DIY: Liquitex Acrylic Inks

DIY: Liquitex Acrylic Inks

Supplies needed:

-Pencil (we used a Pentel Sharp mechanical pencil)

-Watercolor Paper or Chipboard (we used chipboard because we liked the color)

-Liquitex Acrylic Inks (we used a dark, medium, and light)

-Water brushes of various sizes

-Palette

First, we drew out our drawing with the pencil, and set in some values.  Our next step was to do a light wash with our medium tone all over the pencil.  We added some water to get a nice watercolor effect.  After our medium tone dried, we went in with our highlights.  Although the ink has a watercolor effect, the bottom layers are permanent and don't make your highlights muddy.

Our final touch was going in with our darks, which made everything come together.  Try some out, and have fun!
